XSD 2026 Chinese New Year Care Visit: Strengthening Communities with Compassion

Kedah, 6 February 2026 — In celebration of the Lunar New Year, XSD International Paper Sdn Bhd carried out its 2026 Chinese New Year Care Visit, bringing festive warmth to communities in Kulim.

A total of 24 committee members took part in the initiative, visiting Yong Ai Orphanage and Rainbow Senior Care Centre. Festive blessings were also extended to Surau Kampung Padang Meiha, Tabika KEMAS Kampung Padang Meiha, and Tabika KEMAS Taman Desa Aman, reinforcing the spirit of unity and goodwill during this meaningful season.

Rooted in XSD’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) commitments, the visit reflects the company’s ongoing dedication to supporting vulnerable groups and fostering inclusive community development.

Yong Ai Orphanage: Creating Joy Beyond Donations

At Yong Ai Orphanage, festive and household essentials were contributed, including mandarin oranges, cooking oil, chocolate drinks, rice vermicelli, beverages, toilet paper, body wash, shampoo, liquid detergents, and study chairs — supporting both daily living and learning needs.

Beyond material support, committee members joined the children in decorating the home with spring couplets, lanterns, and festive decor. The children expressed their appreciation through three lively dance performances, filling the space with laughter and warmth. The visit was not only about giving, but about connection — creating moments that will be remembered well beyond the festive season.

Rainbow Senior Care Centre: The Gift of Presence

At Rainbow Senior Care Centre, essential daily and care supplies were presented, including mandarin oranges, rice, cooking oil, chocolate drinks, toilet paper, body wash, liquid detergent, adult diapers, wet wipes, antiseptic liquid, disposable underpads, and disposable gloves. These contributions were aimed at enhancing comfort and supporting the home’s ongoing care efforts.

Festive decorations were also arranged to brighten the environment. Mandarin oranges were personally distributed, and meaningful conversations were shared with the elderly residents. Though simple, the time spent listening and accompanying them became the most touching part of the visit — a reminder that presence itself carries profound value.

Sharing Festive Blessings with the Wider Community

As part of the outreach, 23 cartons of mandarin oranges were distributed to Surau Kampung Padang Meiha, Tabika KEMAS Kampung Padang Meiha, and Tabika KEMAS Taman Desa Aman. Together with villagers and children, the Lunar New Year was celebrated in a spirit of harmony, gratitude, and shared prosperity.

Advancing Sustainable Development Through Action

The 2026 Chinese New Year Care Visit supports XSD’s broader CSR and ESG framework and contributes to the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

• SDG 1: No Poverty

• SDG 2: Zero Hunger

• SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

As 2026 unfolds, XSD remains guided by its mission:

“Realizing green cycle, inheriting papermaking technology, demonstrates social responsibility.”

Through purposeful engagement and responsible action, XSD continues to strengthen the communities it serves.

This Lunar New Year reaffirms a simple truth — meaningful prosperity is built not only through growth, but through compassion shared and lives touched.
