XSD in Action | Our Green Commitment Takes Root

In support of the National 100 Million Tree-Planting Campaign and the Kedah State 2 Million Tree Reforestation Program, XSD International Paper Sdn. Bhd. proudly organised a meaningful tree-planting CSR initiative under the theme “Sustainable Papermaking for Forest Conservation” on 26 May 2025.

Held at Taman Eko Rimba Bukit Hijau, Baling, Kedah the event was officially officiated by Puan Fadhilah Binti Mohamad, District Forestry Officer, and led by Miss Joyce Shi, President of XSD, along with Mr. Khor, General Advisor of XSD. The event brought together a passionate team of 40 committed employees, alongside dedicated officers from:

🌳 Kedah State Forestry Department

🌳 Southern Kedah District Forestry Office

🌳 Pahau Forestry Ranger Office

🌳 Baling Forestry Ranger Office

Together, the group successfully planted 200 native Hopea Odorata saplings, a vital step toward reforesting and protecting one of Kedah’s key water catchment areas.

At XSD, we take pride in being a green paper mill that champions sustainability in our use of recycled paper as a raw material. Yet we know that true sustainability goes beyond responsible sourcing — it's also about giving back to nature and nurturing ecosystems for the future.

“We may not harvest trees, but we still care deeply about forests,” said Joyce Shi, President of XSD International Paper Sdn. Bhd. “Each tree planted today represents a promise — a promise to future generations, and to the earth.”

The event featured a warm welcome briefing and hands-on planting activity that saw employees rolling up their sleeves, putting their hearts and sweat into every sapling planted — a powerful moment of connection with nature and a meaningful reminder of the impact we can make when we work together.

This initiative is part of our Green XSD campaign and broader ESG strategy, which is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
